Did you know:

  •  Single parents thrive when connected to support groups, including improvement in overall finances, parenting, life skills, networking opportunities, and volunteerism.
  •  Single parents often report less struggles with depression and fear and other mental health issues, when connected to a support group.
  •  Single parent support groups teach single parents to also learn to serve others.
  •  There are very few resources that provide churches & community leaders with useful information on how to minister to single parent families effectively.

The Father 2 Father exists to educate community and church leaders, as well as the general public on the challenges single parent families face, establish support groups for single parents, and provide programming for single parents to promote self-sufficiency in parenting, finances, and health & wellness. We are a hub for all things single-parent and single parent ministry related and are excited to bring a large variety of programs that ensure that no single mom walks alone!

CURRENT PROGRAMS INCLUDE:

Early Head Start/ Head Start - We currently work along the side of Southern Oregon Head Start to help engage fathers in their programs with their children.  This program is specific to the head start parents.  We still offer them the opportunity to join our fathers group where we can work more on the spiritual side of our daily lives.

Gospel Rescue Mission in Grants Pass - This meeting is an hour and a half 2x a week. We meet tuesday and thursday from noon to 1:30 with those that have children to help them overcome the idea's that they are not any good because they are in a residential rescue mission.  The idea behind this is by working with them while they are there they can overcome their issues what ever they maybe with a little bit of help and coaching.  With the added Teaching from the bible and mentoring that can become a "brightly shining light" to their children. When love is given love is returned. Christ Jesus first loved us enough to come to us where we were and/or currently.  If Christ Jesus did that to us He expects us to be a conduit for His glory. It is up to us His children to help children that he so graciously loves dearly.  

Community Support group - This is in the process currently, but what we intend to do is the following. A part of our meeting is set aside for group talk were we talk about what we go through as a single dad daily.  One of the fellow men might know abut a similar situation as they just or currently gone though it.  This is where men can share ideas that has worked for them for others to add to their parenting tool box for things to try. We don't allow the men to bad mouth their child's mother.  Just like they wouldn't do it in front of their children.  We will also break open God's word as this is were True healing happens.  Teaching men how to become an authentic disciple of Christ and showing them how to go out and duplicate the process with other.  

In the future we plan to have more specialized teaching and trainings like Raising A Modern Day Knight and Purity for instance.
